Give perks to supporters and boosters

Give the holders of a Discord role, such as boosters, patrons or staff, an XP multiplier, channel access, extra roles or a personal role they design themselves.

Every plan

To reward everyone who holds a role, such as Server Booster, a Patreon tier or staff, create a perk whose condition is that role, then add what it gives: more XP, permissions, channel access, another role, or a personal role. Colossus never hands out or takes away the role you pick; it only acts while members hold it. This needs Manager or Admin access and levelling on.

Give a role's holders perks

  1. Open Rewards › Perks and press New perk.
  2. Under When, press Pick a condition, choose Has, then role, and pick the role. Roles an integration manages, @everyone, and roles a perk already gives or already rewards aren't offered.
  3. Under Then, press Add action and pick what holders get. One perk can give several:
    • XP multiplier: holders earn more XP. Pick an existing multiplier, or New multiplier to make one for this role on Earning XP.
    • Hand out a role: another role, given while they hold this one.
    • Permissions and Channels (Pro): permissions and channel access on the role they hold.
    • Personal roles (Pro): holders design a role of their own, below.
    • Card editing (Pro): holders change parts of their rank card.
    • Carry a perk: holders also get another perk's permissions, channel access, personal role, card editing and XP multiplier, and whatever that perk carries in turn. They never get its role or its level-up card, and carrying a level doesn't count as reaching it.
  4. Press Save.

Each role is one perk in the list, however much it gives. Colossus adds member permissions only, and takes back only what it added when the perk lets go.

Set up supporter tiers

Make one perk per tier role, and have each tier's perk carry the tier below it with Carry a perk. The top tier then gets every lower tier's permissions, channels and perks without repeating them.

Give a personal role

On Pro, any perk can come with a personal role: a role each holder names and styles themselves.

  1. Open the perk and, under Then, press Add action › Personal roles.
  2. Under What they may set, pick what holders may set besides the name: a colour, a gradient, the holographic style, an icon, and being listed separately in the member list.
  3. Press Save.

Personal roles sit under Colossus's own role unless you pick another role under Place new roles below › Personal roles on the perks list.

Members design their role on their own Colossus page, at the site's address followed by /m/ and your server's Discord ID, on the Personal role tab. An icon is a PNG or WebP under 256 KB, or one of the server's emoji. They press Send for approval, and the design waits for your team under Review member requests.

A member who stops qualifying has their personal role taken off. Colossus keeps it, with their design, and gives it back if they qualify again. It is deleted from Discord only when the member presses Remove my role, your team resets it, or the member's data is erased.

If it doesn't work

  • The role isn't in the list. An integration manages it, it is @everyone, or another perk already gives or rewards it.
  • Access doesn't apply. The role sits above the Colossus role. The perk's row says so; drag the Colossus role up in Server Settings › Roles.
  • Discord refuses a personal role. The bot needs Manage Roles and a role above the personal roles. Colossus tries again once that is fixed.
