Control what Colossus records

What Colossus records in your Discord server and never stores, how to stop recording a channel or role, delete recorded history, choose how long data is kept, and how members opt out.

Every plan

Colossus records activity, such as when and where messages are sent and time in voice, but never the text of messages. If your server turns on Intelligence › Sentiment, Colossus sends the text of messages in the channels you pick to Anthropic to be labelled, without storing it. You choose which channels and roles it records and how long it keeps data, and any member can erase themselves with /opt-out. The privacy policy is the full statement. Changing these settings needs Manager or Admin access.

Stop recording a channel or role

  1. Open Workspace › Server and, under Blacklist, press Channels or Roles.
  2. Pick them. A category covers its channels, now and later, and threads follow their channel. Members with a listed role aren't recorded anywhere.
  3. Press Save.
The Blacklist under Workspace › Server: a voice channel, a text channel and a role Colossus doesn't record.

This applies from then on, and nothing there earns XP.

Delete what a channel already recorded

Press Delete recorded history, the bin beside a listed channel or category, then Delete history. Its recorded activity and the XP earned in it are deleted for good.

Choose how long data is kept

  1. Open Workspace › Server and set Keep analytics for: 90, 180, 365 or 730 days, or Forever.
  2. Press Save. Shortening it deletes older analytics for good, so it asks for the server's name first.

Your plan decides how far back charts reach; this setting decides what is kept.

Set the time zone and the bot's language

On the same page, Analytics timezone sets how every chart cuts days and hours, and Bot language sets the language of giveaways and level-up announcements you haven't written yourself.

How members opt out

Any member can run /opt-out in your server. Colossus stops counting them there, erases what it recorded about them, their XP, levels and anything imported included, and takes their perk roles off. It keeps a one-way fingerprint so it knows not to count them again. /opt-in counts them again from then on; nothing erased comes back.

Tell members your server uses Colossus, such as in your rules channel.

What Colossus records

Messages

When and where, and what they carried: words, links, attachments, GIFs, emoji, mentions, replies, reactions and threads. Never the text.

Voice

Time connected, and whether members spoke, were muted, streamed or had a camera on.

Members

Joins, leaves, the invite they joined through, roles and boosts.

Moderation

Deleted messages per channel, and timeouts and bans.

Events and commands

Scheduled events and who was interested, and how often Colossus's commands were run.

Presence

Counts of who is online, and the apps members show, with the Presence intent.

When the bot leaves or the server is deleted

If the bot leaves your server, recording stops and the data is kept for 90 days, then deleted. Invite the bot back on Server picks up where you left off.

To delete everything at once, open Workspace › Server › Danger zone › Delete this server, press Delete server and type the server's name. A paid plan is set to end with its paid period. Your Discord server itself is untouched. Deleting needs Admin access.
