Run a giveaway
To run a giveaway, open Campaigns › Giveaways, press New giveaway, set the prize, channel, length and who can enter, and start it: Colossus posts it with an Enter button and draws the winners on time. Giveaways aren't part of a plan yet; the Colossus team switches them on for a server. Running them needs Manager or Admin access, and Viewer can see them.
Start a giveaway
- Campaigns › Giveaways, press New giveaway. To begin from a preset such as Active members only, open its arrow and pick one under Start from a template.
- Under When, pick the channel and when it starts and ends, up to 60 days. A host or a last call can go there too.
- Under Only if, Add condition limits entry by roles, level, messages, time in voice, time in the server, account age or boosting, or asks for staff approval or an entry form.
- Under Extra entries, give roles or activity extra entries.
- Under Then, name the prize and how many win, from 1 to 50. Add to prize gives them a code or text to claim, a winner role, or XP; Add prize adds another prize.
- Add action announces the winners, DMs each one, opens a thread with them, sets a time to claim or limits rerolls. Mark on charts marks it on every chart.
- The preview shows the post, the announcement and the DM; Edit there changes their wording.
- Press Start giveaway, or Schedule giveaway for a later start.
The editor saves a draft as you go. More actions › Save as template keeps the settings and messages, without the channel or schedule, for next time. A server can have up to 25 giveaways scheduled or running at once.
Run a giveaway with entry requirements
Under Only if, Add condition limits who can enter: roles they must hold (any or all of them), roles that block entry, a level, messages sent, time in voice, time in the server, account age, or boosting the server. Roles that skip the rules let their holders enter anyway. A level requirement needs levelling on.
Give bonus entries
Under Extra entries, Add extra entries gives extra entries to members with a role, from 1 to 100 extra each, or for activity such as messages or time in voice. Winners are drawn weighted by entries.
How members enter
Members press Enter on the post. The answer is private: they're in, with how many entries their roles and activity give, or they're told which requirement keeps them out. Pressing it again offers to leave.
How winners are drawn
At the end time, winners are drawn from the entries. Anyone who has left the server or now holds a blocking role is passed over. The post shows the winners, and the announcement, direct messages and role go out as set. A prize to claim carries a Claim button; a winner who doesn't claim within the deadline is replaced by a new draw.
End, cancel or reroll a giveaway
On the giveaway's page:
- Edit changes a scheduled or running giveaway. A running one keeps its channel and start time, and new requirements apply to members who enter from then on.
- Start now starts a scheduled giveaway at once.
- End now draws winners from the entries so far.
- Cancel giveaway ends it with no winners, and the post says so.
- Draw more winners leaves out everyone who already won. Reroll unclaimed replaces only those who haven't claimed.
- Edit changes a running giveaway; new rules apply to members who enter from then on.
See who entered
A running or ended giveaway's page charts its entries over time and lists everyone who entered. What it did for the server is in Pulse: with Mark on charts on, Intelligence › Pulse › Impact on Pro and Titan compares the days after it with the same days a week earlier.
If it doesn't work
- Delivery problem on a giveaway. The bot couldn't post in the channel or give the role. It needs View Channel, Send Messages and Embed Links there.
- Nobody meets a level requirement. Levelling is off on the server.
- A winner role is refused. It grants Administrator or moderation permissions, or a levelling perk already gives it.
