Run on your own bot

On Titan, Colossus runs under a Discord application you own, so members see your bot's name and avatar. Set it up when you add a server, or move an existing server over.

Titan

On Titan, Colossus runs under a Discord application you create, so members see your bot's name and avatar instead of Colossus's. Setting it up needs the server's owner or Admin access.

Set up your own bot when you add a server

  1. Under Pick a plan, pick Titan and press Continue.
  2. In the Discord developer portal, create an application, then press I've created it.
  3. On the application's Bot page, press Reset Token and copy the token. Paste it into Bot token and press Connect.
  4. Under Privileged Gateway Intents on the same Bot page, switch on Server Members, Message Content and Presence. Press Check again, then Continue.
  5. Press the button that adds your bot on Discord, which carries your bot's name, and authorise the bot.
  6. Press Continue to payment, or come back later and pay from Workspace › Plan & billing.

The bot stays offline until the plan is paid for, and starts recording once the payment clears.

Move an existing server to your own bot

  1. Open Workspace › Server and press Connect your bot.
  2. Follow the four steps in the dialog: create the application, switch on the three intents, invite the bot to the server, and paste its token into Bot token.
  3. Press Move to your bot.
Workspace › Server on a server running its own bot: the bot, what Discord shares with it, and the way back to the shared bot.

Go back to the shared Colossus bot

  1. On Workspace › Server, under Shared bot, press Add it on Discord and add the shared Colossus bot to the server.
  2. Press Use shared bot.

Change the bot token

After resetting the token in the developer portal, open Workspace › Server › Danger zone › Bot token, press Store new token, paste the new token into New bot token and press Store new token again. Colossus stores it encrypted and never shows it again.

If it doesn't work

  • The token is rejected. Copy it again from the Bot page, whole. Resetting the token makes every older copy stop working.
  • "That bot already runs another server." One application runs one server. Create a second application for this one.
  • Some cards say the bot doesn't receive their data. An intent is off. Switch it on in the developer portal, then press Check now under Discord shares.
  • The server has 10,000 members or more. Discord reviews a bot using these intents after it joins. Switch the intents on before you invite the bot, and they keep working through Discord's 90-day review.
  • The plan ends. The server moves to the shared bot. Add the shared bot on Discord first so nothing is missed; see Change your plan and billing.
