Each week Pulse compares your server's last full week with the eight before it and lists what moved outside its usual range; the weekly briefing posts that list to a staff channel. Both come with every plan; Free lists one Pulse reading a week, Pro and Titan every kind of finding.
Check what changed this week
- Open Intelligence › Pulse. The findings are under What needs you, Needs attention first.
- Press a finding to open it, then See the numbers to open the chart behind it and narrow it by role or channel.
- On Pro and Titan, Impact below the findings shows what your annotated events did; see See what an event did.
To mark, assign or snooze findings, see Act on findings.
How Pulse judges a week
At the start of each week, in the server's time zone, Colossus reads the Monday-to-Sunday week that just ended and compares each reading with the eight weeks before it. A reading far outside its usual range becomes a finding: Needs attention when it moved the wrong way, Worth knowing when it moved the right way. A quiet server and a busy one are each judged against their own past, and that week's list stays as it is until the next one.
Pulse shows up to 1 finding a week on Free, 5 on Pro and 10 on Titan.
- Active members
The share of members ever seen who posted in the week.
- Talk concentration
The share of messages written by the ten busiest members. Lower is healthier.
- Quiet channels
The share of text channels where nobody posted.
- Newcomer reception
The share of new members' first messages answered within a day.
- Activation
The share of joiners who posted or joined voice in their first week.
- Early churn
The share of the week's leavers who had joined less than a week before.
- Slow replies
The share of replies that came more than two hours after the message.
- Net new members
Joins minus leaves.
A reading is judged once the server has five recorded weeks, and only in a week with enough activity to read, such as 200 messages for Talk concentration or 10 joiners for Activation. Importing your history gives Pulse past weeks to compare with.
Post the weekly briefing to Discord
- Open Intelligence › Briefings.
- Switch on Post the briefing.
- Set When: a day and an hour in the server's time zone. Monday at 9:00 unless you change it.
- Under Channel, pick a staff channel. Everyone who can read the channel reads the briefing.
- Press Save.
The briefing posts the week's findings your staff haven't heard yet; a quiet week posts one line. Changing the briefing needs Manager or Admin access, and Viewer sees the page read-only. Recent briefings at the bottom shows how the last ones went.
Briefing and alert settings
- Name members
Lets findings about single members, such as regulars going quiet or farmed XP, into the briefing with their names. Off, those findings are left out.
- Mention
A role the briefing and every alert ping.
- Direct messages
On Pro and Titan, sends you the briefing and alerts by direct message too, with only what your own access reads. It applies to you alone.
- Alerts
Post alerts posts a join spike as it happens, on every plan. On Titan, findings that need attention are posted too, checked once a day.
- Mute
Kinds of finding left out of Pulse, the briefing and alerts.
- Sensitivity
On Titan, which findings are kept: Low keeps only Needs attention, Medium adds Worth knowing, High keeps everything. Other plans always keep everything.
- Routing
On Titan, Add route sends chosen kinds of finding to their own channel or to a team member by direct message, instead of the briefing's channel.
Changes to Mute and Sensitivity apply from the next week's list.
If it doesn't work
- Nothing posts. The bot can't post in the channel. Recent briefings shows whether Discord refused it.
- A briefing shows as Withdrawn. It was switched off, moved to another channel, or Name members was turned off before it went out.
- Fewer findings than the plan allows. The week was quiet, findings were snoozed or muted, or your access leaves out the analytics behind some.
