Set up level-up messages and rank cards
Level-up messages and the /rank card are set under Rewards › Level-ups & cards: Level-ups for where and when level-ups post, Rank card for the card, and Images for cards you design. Each page shows the result as members will see it and waits for Save. Changing them needs Manager or Admin access.
Choose where level-ups are announced
- Open Level-ups and set Where to announce: where they happen (the default), in a channel and pick the channel, by direct message, or nowhere.
- Set When to announce: every level-up, only level-ups that give a perk (the default), or every few levels and how many levels apart.
- Press Save.
Only levels reached by earning XP are announced. Levels moved by a new curve, an import, a recount or a hand change never are.
Write your own level-up message
On Pro, write in place on the preview on Level-ups: plain text, embeds and link buttons, or Discord's newer layout components. Placeholders fill in the member, their name and avatar, their new and previous level, prestige, XP and the server's name. Undo, Redo and Reset are in the top bar.
The message can carry a level-up card: a built-in one in your layout and colour, or a card from Images. On Titan, a level perk can post its own card instead: open the perk under Perks and, under Then, press Add action › Level-up image.
Set up the /rank card
- Open Rank card and pick Built-in with a layout and colour, or on Pro Image with a card from Images.
- Under /leaderboard replies, choose privately, to whoever asked (the default) or in the channel, for everyone.
- Press Save.
On Pro, the message /rank posts with the card is written in place too.
Design a card in Images
On Pro, Rewards › Level-ups & cards › Images keeps every rank and level-up card you design: 25 on Pro, 150 on Titan. Press New image and start from a built-in look or from nothing. A card in use can't be deleted until another replaces it.
Let members design their own card
On Pro, open a perk under Rewards › Perks and, under Then, press Add action › Card editing. Pick the parts its holders may change: the layout, colours, font and background, and the pictures and words on the card. Members change their card on their own Colossus page; each picture they upload waits under Review member requests before /rank shows it.
If it doesn't work
- A level-up doesn't post. Level-ups lists Messages Discord refused from the last 30 days. Usually the bot can't post in the channel, the channel is gone, or the member doesn't accept direct messages.
- Two level-ups for one level. The old bot is still announcing. Turn its levelling off.
